Ye, now known as Kanye West, announced his comeback on Twitter after a two-year absence. The rapper sent a tweet about Mark Zuckerberg deactivating his Instagram account. According to a recent Buzzfeed article, Twitter may have also blocked the well-known rapper’s account due to an anti-Semitic comment.
Twitter erased Kanye West’s message in addition to briefly locking the account, but not before people quickly screenshotted it.
‘I’m a bit drowsy tonight but when I wake up I’m gonna death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE, The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic since black people are Jew too You guys have messed with me and attempted to blackball everyone who opposes your agenda,’ the now-deleted tweet says.
How long his Twitter account will be restricted is still a mystery. If you’re not aware, according to Twitter policies, a locked account will be in “Read-only” mode and may be limited for anywhere from 12 hours and seven days, depending on the seriousness of the offense. This means that while other users on the social media site can still engage with Kanye West’s profile, he won’t be able to like, share, or tweet until the limits are lifted.
West was just welcomed back on Twitter by Elon Musk. In a recent interview, the rapper said that the American Jewish Committee was “loaded with racist and antisemitic connotations” and that it was at the center of a debate over wearing a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt.
