Users may now formally migrate their WhatsApp chat history from an Android smartphone to an iPhone. Before the release of the new “Move to iOS” software, users who switched from an Android phone to an iPhone had to abandon their conversation history. Now, however, users may easily transfer their chat history to the new operating system.
The transfer tools are incredibly helpful, especially for people switching for the first time to an iPhone. Not all WhatsApp data is sent at once, it should be noted. Your call history and payment history, for example, won’t be transferred over. Here’s how to move your WhatsApp data from an Android phone to an iPhone, regardless.
Step 1: Update your iPhone and prepare the other requirements
Make sure your iPhone is updated to the most recent version before starting the procedure because iOS versions before 15.5 do not support the capability. Additionally, you must ensure that the older iOS device and the Android smartphone are both linked to the same WiFi network and a power supply.
Step 2: On the Android phone, download the “Move to iOS” program
Install the “Move to iOS” app on your phone by visiting the Google Play Store. You may move the data to your newer iPhone with the aid of this program.
Step 3: Launch the “Move to iOS” app and start transferring your data
On your Android device, launch the Move to iOS app, then follow the on-screen directions. You will soon be required to input a code, which you may locate on your iPhone by selecting the “Move Data from Android” option in the iOS Setup Assistant while configuring it. After entering your code, choose Continue and continue to follow the on-screen directions. On the Transfer Data page, click WhatsApp.
Tap the “Start” button on your older Android smartphone, then wait as WhatsApp prepares all of your data for transfer to a new handset. You will be immediately logged out of your older device after the backup is finished.
The data transfer may then be started by tapping “Continue” after tapping “Next” to return to the “Move to iOS” app. Once finished, download WhatsApp from the App Store on your new iPhone and sign in with the same phone number you used for the earlier Android smartphone. Your WhatsApp chat history should be accessible on your iPhone once you’ve finished the activation process on your new device.
